Rest in Peace, Tito Rene. We will miss you always. I am so glad that you got to meet Dennis and Phoebe when we visited. Thank you for welcoming us into your home with such warmth. Gone but will never be forgotten. Rene wasn't just a friend but like a brother to me. I met Rene in 1974 - back in our younger years, when I worked with him in Philippine Constabulary / Integrated National Police (now PNP) for 9 years. He was the Chief Operation Officer for Integrated Civilian Home Defense Forces. We became close during our stint there where we inspected the country's Luzon region. When Rene and his family moved to Canada, we kept in touch and remained really close friends. In fact, he and his wife, Dolly, visited me and my family when we migrated to USA and lived in Washington state, which was about a couple hours away from them.
Rene, thank you for all the memories and our times together. I will forever cherish those. I will miss talking to you and sharing our stories of the good old days. You left a legacy that will forever live in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace, my friend.
Dolly, Michelle, Ren and family - On behalf of my wife and daughters, I am extending my deepest sympathy to all of you. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Your Papa Rene loved you all and I am a witness of his unconditional love he had for his family. I hope and pray that you all find comfort in times like this and know that God Almighty will never leave your side. You have gained an angel in heaven.

My deepest condolences to you all. It was sad to read of Uncle Rene’s passing. I will always remember him as a strong, silent, but funny man. His speech at Maria’s wedding will never be forgotten. The hospitality and kindness you all have shown will always be remembered. His presence lives within you all.

Dear Quiaoit Family,
We are forever thankful that we got to share many great memories with Tito Rene. From making Al feel like he had a family to spend the holidays from his first move to Vancouver in 2009, showing Tito Rene and Tita Dolly as a family around Europe and having 'mga apos' bond with each other at their milestone ages. All the key moments have been shared with laughs, smiles and thankfully food that we all enjoyed together.
Tito Rene was always kind, generous and always up for a laugh. There is so much to his story that will continue to live on through all of you, his family. May Tito Rene rest in peace. Wishing you all comfort in this time of sorrow.
