Obituary of Doraine Williams

Doraine passed away peacefully on March 28 2020. Predeceased by her husband Robert and grandson Jordan. Survived by 4 children Allan (Chenda), Heather (Garry), Alison (Mike) and Elaine (Joel) , 12 grandchildren and 7 ½ great grandchildren.
Born in Saskatchewan, Doraine moved to Vancouver with her family in 1942. She worked as a riveter for Boeing Aircraft during WW II.
She met Bob In 1946 and they married in 1947. Besides being a homemaker, she volunteered for many organizations in her life time including the West Vancouver Youth Band and Simpson Hospital in Fort Langley.
After Bob’s death in 1977, she continued her volunteering and eventually took a course in grapho-ananlysis and spent several years deciphering and teaching handwriting analysis.
In her later years she embraced the “snowbird” lifestlye and spent many winters in Australia , New Zealand and Tucson with her companion of several years Russ Turner. She spent the summers living with Russ in Manning, Alberta.
In 2011, Doraine moved back to Langley and lived in independent living at the Renaissance. While living there she picked up a new hobby, painting. She continued to enjoy knitting and crocheting and made several afghans and toques.
Doraine spent the last few months of her life at the Fort Langley Seniors Community (formerly known as Simpson Hospital) We wish to thank the staff at FLSC as well as Ernie for their loving and compassionate care of our mom and Mugga.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Last Door Recovery Centre or B.C. Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
