Lennie was born in war torn Holland at the end of WWII. Lennie's parents, she,

and her brothers moved to South Africa in 1947 to be closer to her uncles. In

1950, Lennie and her family immigrated to Canada. Lennie attended public

school in Port Credit, Ontario. Growing up, her favorite summer activities were

swimming and competitive paddling with the Mississauga Canoe Club. Lennie

graduated from the Kitchener Waterloo Hospital School of Nursing in 1966,

earning her RN designation.

Lennie married Winston Kerr in 1966. She worked in a number of hospitals

(Scarborough, Ottawa and Edmonton) as she and Winston explored new

opportunities.

In Medicine Hat, Alberta Lennie began working in the home care field. She then

became a Home Care Manager for the SE Alberta Health Unit with sub-offices in

Brooks and Bow Island. While in Medicine Hat, Lennie obtained both a BN

degree and an Administrative Studies degree from Athabasca University.

many friends in Parksville & Qualicum. Lennie was diagnosed with progressive

MS in 2002.
