John (Sean) Joseph Macken was born in Dublin Ireland on November 6 1935. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 21 with pennies in his pocket. He met his soulmate in 1958 and they where married on February 23, 1963. Together they never looked back, he created a beautiful life for his four 4 children 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He loved fiercely! Christmas was his favourite time of year! He brought joy to children and emerged himself in the magic of giving. He never passed a person in need without offering assistance. His soul and heart where kind loving and giving! To his kids and grandchildren he was their hero! To his wife he was her partner her friend and her forever love. Heaven gained a great man as we lost our husband/dad/grandpa/ great grandfather/brother. John will be loving remembered by his loving wife Kathleen, his children Carmel (Christos),Shawn (Laura), Patrick, his grandchildren Michelle (Ian), Sean (Jessica) Amanda (Jesse), James (Rebecca), Kathleen, Connor (Krysten)) Alyson (Ethan) ) Randy (Morgan). great grand children Jack, Joseph, Luca, Quinn and Thomas, sister Patty and all who know him. Predeceased by his daughter Bernadette (survived by Michael).

You can shed tears that he is gone
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you cant see him
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
or you can do what he would of wanted:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always

at your back,

May the sun shine warm

upon your face,

and the rain fall soft

upon your fields,

and until we meet again,

May God hold you

in the hollow of his hand.
