Obituary of Maureen Brisson
Maureen Doris Brisson (Brown) (Readman)
28 April 1945 – 03 February 2022
Maureen passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on February 3, 2022. Maureen is survived by her daughters Philippa (Glenn), Catherine (Carsten) and grandchildren Annabelle and Finlay. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Patricia Readman and Pamela Dring (John), and the many lifelong friends she made along the way.
Maureen was the youngest daughter of Harold and Margaret Readman. She was born in Middlesborough, England and immigrated to Canada in 1973. For over 30 years, Maureen called Bridgewater, Nova Scotia home, she then made the move to British Columbia to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. Maureen was always on the go – if you knew her, you knew her sense of humor, her creativity and her fierceness. There was no challenge she didn’t face head on, she was an example to all of us in this. Her favorite sayings were, “There is no such word as can’t”, and “Be strong”, words we will try to remember during these heartbreaking times.
A celebration of life will be held in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia later this year, where Maureen will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery with her love, Fernand. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Parkinson’s Society of Nova Scotia.
