Obituary of Eileen Blackburn

Eileen (Bubbles) Blackburn (nee Bailey) January 13, 1921 – January 3, 2022.  Eileen, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 3,2022 in Langley, B.C.

Born in 1921 in Epsom, England, to parents Bill and Lily.  Eileen came to Canada as a young war bride in 1946 with 2 children in tow arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, then by train to Montreal where she resided for 11 years adding 2 more children to the family.

In 1957, the family moved to Vancouver.  Mom had a passion for crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and travelling.  Meticulous in her appearance, she never went anywhere without looking her best.  And she was always up for a good party where she could show off her dance moves. One of her favourites was YMCA.

Eileen is survived by sons Dave and Phil (Julie) and daughters Marilyn and Karen (Gord), 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and nephew Colin.

Predeceased by parents Bill and Lily, Stepmother Dora, Sister Joan, Brother-in-law Geoff, Grandson Jason, Son-in-law Don, Former Son-in-law Chuck and Husband Jack.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Chartwell Langley Gardens for their exceptional care.

Mom will be greatly missed but always in our hearts.
