3 Misconceptions about Pre-Planning Your Funeral

Planning funerals can be a long, stressful, and painful process for a grieving family. Everyone has their opinion of how these funerals need to be carried out and that can lead to conflict. The best way to avoid this to is pre-plan your funeral and make your own arrangements. This gives the family some freedom to grieve at their own leisure. There are some misconceptions regarding pre-planning the funeral that makes people hesitate and here are most of them explained:

1. Pre-planning is difficult for the family

Pre-planning can cause some heartache, but it can bring solace to the family as well. They can accept the fact that their loved ones will eventually pass away and focus on cherishing the time they have now. This can also relieve the burden of planning and encourage them to focus on helping others cope with the grief.

2. Reduces the financial burden on the family

Funerals can be expensive and many families struggle to cover the cost, especially if the death is unexpected. With pre-planning, you can pay for the funeral service in advance and reduce the cost burden for your family. Paying in advance also saves money because the cost of the funeral is locked and not affected by future market rates.

3. It can be expensive and difficult

Pre-planning doesn’t require much time or effort, and it’s quite affordable as well. All you need to do is contact the funeral service provider, explain your requirements and preferences to them, and sign an agreement. The funeral director will ask a set of questions to help understand your preferences before finalizing the plan.
