Personalizing a Funeral Service on a Budget

Funerals can be expensive, and it seems that the more personalized you decide to make a funeral, the more the bill becomes. For those who are planning a funeral for a loved one, you can personalize this without having to feel as though you are breaking the bank for this personalization.
Here are a few ideas that can allow you to personalize a funeral while sticking to a budget.
- Make sure that the obituary is personal and befitting to the person. If you truly want to make this funeral personalized, consider writing this yourself. If your emotion for the person comes through when writing this, you are going to find that this adds to level of personal touches throughout the funeral.
- Add special items around the casket while on display for the visitation and funeral. These can be little items that the person may have collected or something that portrays who the person was.
- Have music that is personalized around the deceased. If the deceased loved rock n’ roll then be sure to play something that is fitting to the situation. You are going to find that this can add a lot of personality to any funeral, and make everyone remember the deceased as he or she was.
- Often after a funeral service, there is a family gathering to talk about the loved one and to eat. Instead of hiring a caterer to handle this, make it a pot luck. Everyone could bring a dish, and this is going to be something that makes the funeral even more personable and something that people are going to remember for years to come.
