The Crucial Role of a Funeral Director in the Funeral Process

When a loved one passes, those who are left behind are often at a loss as to all that needs to get done and be completed. Not only is there the funeral to plan, but there are papers to submit to people to prove that the person has died, along with financial issues to discuss, items to go through and the like. It can become overwhelming quickly. However, the funeral director is a vital person that you can lean on during this process. Just why is this?

What a Funeral Director Does

A funeral director is going to provide you with their experience and knowledge of how to navigate these waters that may be new to you. For example, when you go into the funeral home to plan a funeral, the director is going to:

  • Showcase your options
  • Talk about your budget
  • Help with getting insurance to pay for the funeral
  • Help with submitting paperwork to get an official death certificate that will be needed when dealing with the loved one’s affairs
  • They also provide a shoulder to lean on during this difficult time

Many funeral directors are more than just funeral directors. They easily step into the role of keeping everyone calm, can provide you with resources for dealing with your grief, and they become someone that you can trust with the fears or the sadness that you may have.

During the funeral, the funeral director is going to handle everything behind the scenes to ensure that the funeral you wanted for the loved one has no major issues.

Here at Arbutus Funeral Service we want you to be happy with the funeral service that was planned, and we go above and beyond to ensure that you are dealing with this death in the best way possible. Our funeral directors are here to help, guide and offer any advice that could help.
