November 30, 1941 – August 28, 2021

Victoria (Vicky) Ouellette passed away on Saturday, August 28th, 2021, at Maple Hills Hospice in Langley BC.

Vicky was born in Chatham, Ontario, the youngest of eight siblings, to her loving parents Fares and Evelyn Edmondson.  She is survived by her husband Andre’ of Langley BC, her son Steve Wagner (Dawn) and grandson Myles of Tumbler Ridge BC, her son Rob Wagner (Donna) granddaughters Angel Wagner, Ilia Harasymiw and her Daughter Lily, grandson Bryan Harasymiw and his son Everet of Hinton AB as well as her sisters Esther Giroux (late Paul) of Ridgetown, ON, Marie VanCaille (late Bill) of Chatham ON and her brother Tom Edmondson of London ON.  She was predeceased by her sisters Frances Riegling (Carl), Laura Padbury (Bruce), Barb Simpson (Bev), and her brother John Edmondson (Fran).

Vicky was most proud of having, in her youth, written to and receiving a hand-written reply from Sir Winston Churchill, who shared her birthday.

She moved from the south western city of Chatham to the northern Ontario community of Atikokan in 1961 where she lived and worked for nearly 20 years.  There, she gave birth to and raised her beloved sons, Steve and Rob.  She met her husband Andre’ in 1981 in Ignace, ON before moving to Vernon BC in 1982.  In 1984 she moved to the home she and Andre’ had built and lived in for 37 years in the Walnut Grove area of Langley BC.

Vicky spent most of her working life doing accounting and bookkeeping.  She worked as the Office Manager for a manufacturing company in Langley for 25 years until ill health forced her to retire in 2009.   She will be long remembered for her winning smile and heartfelt laughter, her kind and generous spirit, and for her loving and giving heart.  She was an extraordinary wife, mother, worker, friend and person.  Her love touched many hearts.  She will be truly missed by all who knew her well.

The family would like to acknowledge the many Fraser Health Home Care workers and nurses, and especially Vicky’s sister-in-law (sissy) Denise who all spent countless hours attending to Vicky’s needs with love and kindness in her final months and days.

A memorial service to be held at a later date will be announced once arranged.
